Molten Core Completed (submitted by fro at 02:48pm CEST)

Our first raid in MC was on the 15th of May. We had problems getting a full raid, we didn't know what we were up to and we were a mishmash of 5 different guilds. After wiping repeatedly to Lucifron, we eventually killed him to obtain 2 epics.

Now 3 months and 269 epics later, we have finally killed Ragnaros to complete our clearance of MC. Of the original 40 people on our first raid, 20 were still present to kill Rag. Well done guys.

Modification to looting rules (submitted by Al at 08:29pm CEST)

By popular demand we've decided to slightly alter the looting rules in order to prevent new folk from having access right away to the best of the loot on our raids. This isn't being done to hamper new folk, but instead to encourge them to take loot from earlier encounters we've done more often first so that the very newest items we've seen can go to folk who've already got the earlier stuff.

Starting this sunday you will only be able to take an item if your total number of points earned (viewable by selecting standings above) is above the cutoff for the particular boss that the loot is coming from.

Lucifron, Magmadar, Gehannes, Garr = 100 dkp
Baron Geddon, Shazzrah, Sulfuron Harbringer, Golemagg = 200 dkp
Majordomo Executus and Onyxia = 400 dkp

Obviously the items may still go to folk below these cutoffs due to folk who are eligible passing on the items, it's important to note no epics will be shared due to this change. Finally please note these values were selected as they seemed to be most popular and a decesion had to be made. This should be considering on trial and these values may be changed at a later point.

Another week of MC (submitted by Al at 02:58am CEST)

Standings should now be up to date to include our last run and our several failed attempts on major domo. Somewhat disappointing but very good run otherwise with no wipes anywhere else.

I'd like to appologise however, as I made a slight mistake with the cenarion gloves that dropped on todays run (17/7). They should have been offered to farkas instead of boonah first. I'll make sure I appologise directly ingame as well but I'm really sorry that happened. Important for folk to check their points regularly to help us all avoid little mistakes like that. Hopefully seeing as it wasn't a brilliant piece and we get bucketloads of druid this particular incident won't be a problem.

Rules & Points proposals (submitted by fro at 12:39am CEST)

Ok we're still using the same database (www.crabpeople.se/loot) but there have been changes to how points are both gained and lost.
Updated with some new loot blizzard have added

The system is up to date at present using current values for items listed on the items page. If you feel your points value is in error please give either myself or Al a shout ingame or on irc (quakenet, #halfcrab) and we'll see if we can fix it.

And now the explanation. We realised that the number of points people are gaining needs to be exactly equal to the number of points spent on items, or else the system will NOT work. For this reason, the points you get is now (value of items dropped on raid)/(number of people in raid). An example: on raid1 we got Flamewaker Legplates (160 pts) + Choker of Enlightenment (150 pts). There were 38 people. Points = (160+150)/38, which is 8.16

People don't need to worry terrbily much about this because Al will calculate it and enter into the database. All you need to worry about is your points total, because this decides who wins items. Its quite simple.

When an item drops, we look up the points total of everybody who is eligible to use the item. The person with the highest points gets first choice. If they do not want it, then the person with the 2nd highest points gets asked. If 2 people have equal points and both want something, they will random for it. Winning the item means that you will have its points taken away from your total, so you will have to do some more raiding before you will come back to the top of the list and win any more.
(note: having negative points will not necessarily stop you getting an item, as long as you still have the highest points total out of the eligible people. Eg if I have -150 and Roblibob has -80 and a hunter item drops, Roblibob gets it)

There is a list of points in another post which we will try to make more permanent so people can look at it for reference. The points for each item is not set in stone, if you think something is wrong then say so.

Points values
Class set pieces (boots, gloves, bracers, belt) 125 points
Class shoulders 140 points
Class helm 150 points up from 145
Class chestpiece,leggings 150 points.

We will need to assign individual point values for each of the items listed that are not part of sets.

Choker of Enlightenment Druids, Priests, Mages, ? shamans ? warlocks 150 points?

Flamewaker Legplates Warriors 160 points

Heavy Dark Iron ring Warriors prot spec only 160 points?

Helm of the Lifegiver Shamans 150 points

Manastorm Leggings Priest, Mage, Warlock 140 points, (down from 170)

Salamander Scale Pants Druids 150 points

Sorcerous Dagger Priests, Druids, ?mages ? shamans 160 points

Aged Core Leather Gloves Rogues 175 points

Deep Earth Spaulders Shamans 120 points

Earthshaker Warriors non protection spec only , shamans 180 points

Eskanders right claw Rogues, ? warriors 160 points (down from 180)

Aurastone Hammer Shaman, priest, druid 180 points

Brutality Blade Rogues, ?? warriors 190 points

Drillborer Disk Warriors protection spec only 180 points

Gutgore Ripper Rogues 180 points

Magma Tempered boots warriors 50 points (junk)

Medallion of Steadfast Might warriors tank spec only 175 points

Obsidian Edged Blade warriors non tanks only 180 points

Quick Strike Ring rogues, hunters, ?warriors 200 points

Striker's mark hunters 160 points

Talisman of blahh power Priests, druids, shamans, lock, mage 180 points

Seal of the Archmagus Priests, druids, shamans, lock, mage 170 points

Bindings of the Wind Seeker Warrior, rogue, hunter 200 points

These values are just because I had to put down something to start us off. They are roughly based on how much in demand I think an item will be, IE the brutality blade and quickstrike ring are both much in demand items and so should be more expensive than say the salamander scale pants. Please tell me what should be more expensive, what should be cheaper.
